“The Ministry of Education and Sport (MED) proceeded in April and June with the progression of 469 teachers of Basic and Secondary Education, referring to the years 2005 and 2006. Another 73 teachers of EB received subsidies for the non-reduction of workload.
The MED explains these progressions with the need to “continue the process of improving the conditions of education professionals and with the policy of valuing the teaching class”.
To this end, even during this year, the Ministry expects to allocate about 400 more subsidies for not reducing the workload. Also regarding the reclassification of teachers for 2008 and 2009, seven teachers have already been reclassified and another 15 are awaiting publication in the Official Bulletin, which is expected to be released later this week.
According to MED, within the scope of this prerogative, about 350 cases are already pending at the Ministry of Finance, which may be released during the current year. So far, 156 teachers in Basic and Secondary Education have been definitively appointed on the board ”.
