On October 5, we commemorate World Teacher's Day, an ephemeris instituted by UNESCO in 1994 with the purpose of highlighting, in a persistent and assertive way, the importance and the irreplaceable role that teachers have in their communities and in universal development education as a fundamental human right.
It is in this spirit that the Trade Union Confederation of Education of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP-SE) joins the celebrations. He joins this event by adding a significant moment to our Confederation, seeking to reinforce the spirit of cooperation and solidarity in Portuguese speaking countries: the launch of the new CPLP-Union of Education website. This new “tool” will do the distant next and place sharing and communication just a click away. This new digital instrument at our disposal will give our activity plan a new impetus, namely in the three priority areas that we are developing: protection and security against covid-19, rights and conditions of work and environmental education and changes climate change. In these brief notes, I could not fail to mention the important support of the Education International in implementing this project.
The challenges in education, in the time that we are going through, are many and of unpredictability and uncertainty guaranteed in a society in transit. The firm conviction of our ideals will always know how to search for the path to follow, always based on the humanistic and democratic values ??that define and shape our professionalism.
Long live the teachers!
Long live all education workers!
